Fr Vitalis Oguh
Ordained 6 February 2014, in Townesville.
Fr Oguh was or- dained by the late Bishop Michael Put- ney. (Ed: Apologies
for the tardy acknowledgement.) Vitalis grew up in Nigeria, and commenced his seminary studies there in 2002. In 2012 he transferred to Brisbane’s Holy Spirit Seminary. Fr Oguh is now assistant priest at Townesville’s Sacred Heart Cathedral parish.

Ordained 8 Decem- ber 2014, in Brisbane.
Fr Camiolo has long suspected the Lord was calling him to the priesthood, and
at the age of 50 nally acted on it, joining Brisbane’s Holy Spirit Semi- nary in 2009. His hunch was correct, and he was ordained late last year. Archbishop Coleridge has appointed him assistant priest at Burleigh Heads parish on the Gold Coast.
Fr Noe Navarrete-Apaez
Ordained 20 March 2015, in Perth.
Fr Navarrete-Apaez discerned a priestly vocation in his na- tive Mexico, and
joined Perth’s Redemptoris Mater Seminary in 2006. Three years of pastoral work in Papua New Guinea con rmed his call to the priesthood. Archbishop Costelloe has appointed him assistant priest at St Mary Star of the Sea, Cottsloe/Mosman Park.
Fr Alexis Vega-Osorio
Ordained 20 March 2015, in Perth.
Fr Vega-Osorio en- tered the seminary at the age of 18 after feeling unful lled
by what the world offfered. He moved from Colombia to Australia to study at Perth’s Redemptoris Mater Seminary, and spent at year doing pastoral work in the Holy Land. He is now assistant priest at St Helena of the Holy Cross parish, Ellenbrook.
Fr Peter Street
Ordained 12 December 2014, in Newcastle.
Fr Street attributes the rst stirrings of his vocation to his childhood parish
priest, whose goodness and spirit of service deeply impressed him. Peter trained and worked as a nurse be- fore commencing seminary studies in 2008. Bishop Wright has appointed him as assistant priest in Maitland’s Chisholm pastoral region.
FR Marlon Henao-Perez
Ordained 20 March 2015, in Perth.
Fr Henao-Perez was on a local pilgrim- age in Colombia with the founders
of the Neocatechumenal Way, Kiko Argüello, Carmen Hernandez and Fr Mario Pezzi, when he was con rmed in his priestly vocation. In 2006 he moved to Perth to study at Redempto- ris Mater Seminary. He’s now assistant priest at Vincent’s Parish, Kwinana.
Fr Sean Byrnes
Ordained 11 April 2015, in Wagga.
Fr Byrnes studied Human Resources at Charles Sturt University before
commencing his seminary studies in 2008. He concluded his studies at Wagga’s Vianney College in 2014, and was assigned to minister as deacon at St Patrick’s, Albury. Since his ordina- tion he has continued at Albury in his new capacity as assistant priest.
Fr Harold Camonias
Ordained 7 March 2015, in Port Piri.
Born and bred in the Philippines, Fr Camonias moved to Australia when he
joined the Missionaries of God’s Love. During his formation in Melbourne, he discerned his calling to be a mis- sionary in a diocesan context. Bishop O’Kelly gladly accepted him as a can- didate for the Port Piri diocese, and he is now assistant priest in Whyalla.
Fr CJ Millen
Ordained 20 March 2015, in Perth.
Fr Millen was born in Kalgoorlie. His father’s work as a school teacher and
principal moved the family all over rural WA. He quali ed as a school teacher himself before discerning a priestly vocation. He joined Perth’s St Charles Borromeo Seminary in 2008. He is presently assigned to Good Shepherd parish, Greenwood.
Fr Stephen Varney
Ordained 2 May 2015, in Wollongong.
Fr Varney secured an apprenticeship in carpentery in high school, and
pursued that auspicious craft until he was 20. Many years and an an engi- neering degree intervened before he joined Sydney’s Seminary of the Good Shepherd in 2009. He is now assistant priest in the Lumen Christi pastoral region in Wollongong.
